Never in my life did I think having a baby would give me a brand-new hobby: picking my baby’s boogers.
Nobody tells you just how tiny those nostrils are—or how many boogers can somehow fit inside them. Seriously, where are they all coming from?!
And there is truly nothing more satisfying than having a little baby who sounds all wheezy because there’s one big old booger blocking her nose, pulling out the booger picker, getting that thing out, and suddenly she can breathe again. Happy and carefree like nothing ever happened.
Meanwhile, I’m sitting there feeling like I just accomplished something huge.
The baby is wiggling, I’m trying to get the perfect angle, and then I finally get it.
Tiny parenting victory.
The one we use is the Oogiebear Baby Nose & Ear Cleaner. It has a little scoop on one end and a loop on the other, so whether you’re dealing with a dry booger or one of those sticky impossible ones, you’re prepared. The bear-shaped ends also help keep it from going too far into their tiny nose.

Is it gross? Probably.
Is it weird that this has genuinely become one of my favorite pastimes? Absolutely.
But parenting changes you, and apparently one of the ways it changed me is that I now get an unreasonable amount of joy from a successful booger extraction.
If you have a baby, get the booger picker. You may think you don’t need one.
Just wait.
